Sara, here are hints from our experience and the experience of others.
If he’s at a casino and you’re a gambler, you may be able to work through a casino host for either free tickets or good seats for which you will pay.
Find out when tickets are going on sale and be prompt about calling.
If possible, be at the box office in person when the sale begins.
If none of these work to your satisfaction, just keep trying the box office for cancellations or for seats that were turned back by VIPs.
