I love it. Tom’s voice cuts through loud and strong. Once again, TJ proves he can sing anything!!! I think this one will have a lot of younger fans checking out the show.

Definitely not a typical TJ song, but he gets props and lots of credit for taking risks and trying new styles. And the best thing is that he can pretty much do it all (except maybe for Holiday on the Mr. Jones CD).

I love it too, Laura. It’s catchy and the four extra teenagers I have visiting right now liked it too! I just have one suggestion: Let Tom sing the whole song. Then it would be perfect.

Hey, Cathy, thought I’d let you know that it IS Tom singing the whole track! I KNOW! Hard to believe, isn’t it? But I can tell you first-hand (I’ve spoken to both Tom and Nick) that it is Tom the whole way through!

Hi Incubator, you’re right! I do find it hard to believe. I know that the song and Tom’s voice is distorted but I listened again and the first few lines I listened to didn’t sound like him! Thanks for letting us know.

I don’t know what the chances are…but I hope Tom puts this song in his live show. I would love to see and hear him wailing at full tilt boogie.

I like it too! And it is catchy! Again Tom proves he can sing anything. Though, this is not that type of song that I would listen to it all day every day. But it would be a great party song. Hope it will be a big hit!! Go, Tom! Go! Go! Luv ya!

Hey Incubator,
Do you know what Tommy of Jones said about Chicane changing his voice to sound like somebody else? Anne Dudley of Art of Noise once said that one of Tom’s concerns about recording Kiss with them was that he feared they might twiddle some knobs and distort his voice. They had to reassure him that wouldn’t happen.
He’s let someone twiddle their knobs on THIS one though! I’m amazed, really, because Tom’s always said that whatever he records, the sound of his voice always has to be his own and that above any showmanship the voice is the most important thing. He’s said it again and again over the years and yet here’s a recording where for much of the track the voice has been altered to the point of sounding like somebody else. They twiddled their knobs A LOT, didn’t they?
What was the idea behind all that adjustment? Was his voice considered too rich for the verse, hence the smoothing out for that part in order to blend with the track? An interesting development in Tom’s recording career but I’m still amazed he agreed to it!
Cheerz!

Where can I hear it before April 24 or do you have to be a member of the music press?
