A Sad Note: John Moran, TJ’s Former PR Person, Dies

Tom’s former PR man John Moran (second from left next to Gordon Mills in this 1983 photo) passed away Friday night in Las Vegas. Many long-time fans will remember John, who worked closely with Gordon. Like Tom, John was a pallbearer at Gordon’s funeral.
John had a most interesting life, working in politics in New York with, among others, Bobby Kennedy and with many entertainers. He introduced Tom to a lot of US political luminaries and always spoke of Tom with great affection. Here in Las Vegas, in addition to his regular work, John was involved in Democratic party politics and worked hard for ChildHaven, an organization that provides housing and services for children who are orphaned or who have parents unable to care for them. He was also a devoted family man.
When he’d go to see Tom’s show at the MGM, John always sat by the sound booth in the back of the Hollywood Theater.
He will be missed.
