Tom To Play One-Night Stand in Amsterdam Saturday

This Saturday, April 21, Tom will be at the 5,500-seat Heineken Music Hall in Amsterdam for a one-off gig.
Opening for him will be a Dutch singer named Jeroen vanderBoom who has a recording of She’s A Lady out now.
In a Dutch newspaper article (kindly translated for us by Dre) vanderBoom said Tom’s management was very enthusiastic about his own release, a new dance version of She’s A Lady, an old hit for Tom.
“‘I got a very positive reaction from Tom’s management.’
“According to Jeroen it isn’t easy to be chosen to open for a big star like Tom Jones. Six or seven other entertainers applied for the job.
“Jeroen (34) sent a link to his website to Tom’s management and a copy of his version of the song…Jeroen is hoping for a meet and greet with Tom…”
You can go to vanderBoom’s website and hear a bit of his version of the song. (The best link we found to listen was the center icon for the iTunes Store.) No need to comment on this guy’s voice. No one’s voice can compare with Tom’s. We know that. But this guy looks fine.

No need to comment on his voice but I checked out his website and he just makes me appreciate TJ even more.

I read that is a closed show. The tickets could be won by guests from the Holland Casino. I think it isn’t fair. For one gig he is in Amsterdam and all the real fans can’t be there. I would love to come myself, I have never been to a concert of Tom Jones.This could be my chance, I thought. It is nearby my home, but unfortunately there was no ticket sale! Let’s hope Tom will come to Amsterdam again for a show and that all his fans can buy a ticket. And Jeroen van der Boom is a great impersanotor of Dutch artists! He is a good entertainer and I think his version of She’s A Lady is great!

Petronella: We understand your frustration but it is a private gig, not listed in his official itinerary. If we can read Dutch correctly, there are tickets being sold at marketplaats.nl. We don’t know if the prices are fair, but maybe you want to take a look. Just put “Tom Jones” in the search box at the top of the page. And, for the sake of all the fans there who cannot gain entry to this concert, we hope he does come back to you.
