18 Years Ago Today: Tom Got His Star On the Hollywood Walk of Fame
Wednesday, June 27th, 2007In between Dyan Cannon and Ralph Bellamy, in front of Frederick’s of Hollywood, at 6608 Hollywood Blvd., Tom’s star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame was unveiled 18 years ago, on June 27, 1989.
The star was the result of hard work by a lot of fans who held raffles and fundraisers to get their man this honor.
It’s the kind of thing fans used to do in a spirit of cooperation and it was awfully nice.

It’s amazing what fans can accomplish when they set out as a group to get something done. It was a job well done and I’m sure that Tom appreciated all the effort.

I was at the scene a few weeks ago and Tom’s star is not in very good shape (like all Hollywood Boulevard). Think it’s time to bring back the good old days and renovate this historic place.
