TJ Question: Pets?
Wednesday, August 22nd, 2007In our TJ Questions section, in addition to posting our Questions of the Month, we try to answer questions you may have. If you have a one, please try to remember to email it to us, don’t post it as a comment or we might miss it. Here’s the latest:
In all the surfing I’ve done, I haven’t seen anything mentioned about whether or not Tom has any pets. Does he have any cats? Dogs? Has he ever stated a preference for one or the other? I have seen a couple pictures where he rides or is with a horse, though he doesn’t seem a horse person to me.

Dana: The last pet we know about was a beautiful Russian Blue cat named Baby who died a few years ago. This is a short-haired, blue-gray breed that has a unique coat in that the longer, outer hairs have silver tips which make for a shimmering appearance.

Many years ago (when he lived in Weybridge) Tom had a lovely black Labrador called Blackie - I seem to remember that, sadly, it was killed by a car while he was away on tour.

Paula, i remember this as well, he also used to have a horse in the 60’s.

Thanks for the answer Ellen/Ursula. Also for the input Paula and Dre. It would be a great question to put to Tom if anyone gets a chance encounter with him and a few minutes of his time.

Great Question! Knowing that Tom enjoys cats only makes me love him more. A man who loves cats has to great!

Dre: it was a racehorse called Walk On By. Clearly the amount of Tom Trivia retained by my brain is a bit disturbing………

Wonder if he would sing “what’s new pussycat?” to her! I always say that to my cat who comes running to sit on my desk whenever TJ’s voice is coming out of the computer speakers.

Question: Does anyone know if Tom currently has any pets that travel with him? If so what type, etc..

As far as we know, Chris, he doesn’t. Just travels with the band, the crew, the singers and the fans that follow him.

“: it was a racehorse called Walk On By. ” Yes, I’ve seen picture with racehorse; but question it because I can’t find anything about the song Walk On By with Tom Jones. I still have memories this B/W TV show, (maybe combined version, on TV Zagreb,about 1969, Yugoslavia)

Maybe he didn’t name the horse. Or, maybe, it originally belonged to Burt Bacharach, who Tom knows and who wrote Walk On By.
