Show & Venue Reviews, What's New, Pussycat?
Please share your Tom Jones shows with other fans. Setlist? Audience? Energy? What was it like being there? We’d love to hear from you.
And, while you’re telling us about the shows, please let us know what you think of the venues where Tom plays. Clubs, theaters, casinos — Tom Jones performs in all of them. Which venue do you think is the best? The worst?
So that other fans will know what’s in store when they buy their tickets, please tell us a little bit about the venues you know. If possible, try to use the format below so others can tell at a glance what you think. The best venue will merit ****. More than one review of a venue is welcome.
Ending The Week In Las Vegas
Wednesday, September 26th, 2007
Tom finished his run of seven shows tonight. Throughout the run he looked and sounded great. For long-time fans, the opening night was not to be topped. But those fans knew that they’d seen an extraordinary performance opening night and, for the rest of the run, were satisfied by just seeing Tom. New fans, the virgins at every show, were thrilled. What some consider, after many years, to be ordinary, these audience members thought was extraordinary. And that’s how it should be.
We must note that Tom came bounding onto the stage each night looking happy, healthy and sated — a man truly content with his life.
On Tuesday night, some cast members from Phantom: The Las Vegas Spectacular were in the audience. They all seemed to love the show. Before they went backstage to meet Tom, we spoke with Anthony Crivello, one of the two amazing Phantoms in the show.
Crivello, a Tony Award®-winner, played “Sicilian geography” with Ursula, discussing their heritage and their shared roots in Milwaukee. Ellen had reviewed him in Phantom when it first opened and again reviewed the show when it celebrated its first anniversary. When the opening night review was printed, she got a nice — totally unexpected — thank you note. He, like the show, is “spectacular.” We love it and highly recommend you see it when you’re in Las Vegas (after all, this is a terrific city for entertainment — even when Tom isn’t here).
Anyway, he led his really enthusiastic castmates in cheering for Tom. He said he “loved” the show and, this morning, sent us the photo here. The woman with them is Crivello’s wife, actor and producer Dori Rosenthal.
In all, a solid run for Sir Tom. Most nights sold out and audiences were loving it. He must have been pleased.
We look forward to hearing from fans who see Tom in California and AC before he returns to Las Vegas. Enjoy!

Oh my, isn’t that guy in the middle handsome? I will be seeing him in Atlantic City on 11/30 and 12/1 - I’ll let you all know how good he is (like we don’t know already)

He’s looking and singing so fine! I just hope whatever it is he’s doing he keeps doing it until December’s return to Vegas.

We have to say that, seeing Anthony Crivello in Phantom and (Ellen) having seen him on Broadway in Spiderwomen, he is terrific and for a talent like him to so visibly appreciate Tom was a real treat. Next time you get to Vegas, take a few extra days and venture out of the MGM Grand into other showrooms. You won’t be sorry. And we’re as ardent fans as anyone.

Wow, what a show, what a voice! What a great group of professional musicians and fabulous singers that Tom has with him. We went to the show on Monday night in Vegas and all I can say is that, it was an emotional experience. I took my 88 year old father and when Tom sang, Fly Me to the Moon, my father reached over and held mine and my sister’s hands. It was a great time. The next night, Tom walked through the MGM casino signing autographs. I took a side profile picture. See you in San Diego

Ohhhh, Anita, Would love to be there when Tom comes through the casino…signing autographs. Will you share the picture you took?? What a great experience taking your father to see Tom with you.

Seven nights in a row with Tom in September — all front row seats. Best experience of my life. But please, please, bring back The Reason and I wouldn’t mind if you shortened up the “standards.” Either way, I’ve never been move entertained or happier to be anywhere else in my life! You are incredible — always have been, always will be!
