April Question of the Month: Favorite Female Singer?

I love Cher and at this minute I’m trying to decide and can’t so I will say Amy Winehouse and Leona Lewis.

Ella Fitzgerald (she was great on Toms Christmas DVD) Present, I am not so sure. Maybe Heather Small .

Tina Turner and Diana Ross, but I’d say Tom’s female equivalent would be more like Dusty Springfield.

For me it’s Olivia Newton John.She is such a beautiful person and her voice is still great.I wish I could see her once in a concert.

Janis Joplin, Marianne Faithfull, Karen Matheson (singer of Scottish band Capercaillie). And recently discovered Alison Krauss through her new album with Robert Plant (amazing album!)

If I had to choose only one female singer it would have to be Aretha Franklin. I also like some of Ella Fitzgerald’s recordings and enjoy listening to Ruth Brown and Mahalia Jackson. A new singer has emerged from Wales called Duffy: she has an arresting soul voice that has a unique quality. One to watch I think.

I don’t really have one but Shirley has a good voice. I also like Tina Tuner And I have to mention Katherine Jenkins and Bonnie Tyler because they are Welsh. Paula says Duffy is also one to watch, I agree.

I think I must have completely different taste to a lot of Toms fans, as my fave female singer is Connie Francis.

My favorite American female singers are Peggy Lee, Rosemary Clooney and Regina Spektor. My favorite European female singers are Esther Ofarim and Edith Piaf.

As a kid, I would have given my right arm to be able sing like Gladys Knight and Aretha. Now I like Joss Stone. Alicia Keyes isn’t bad either!

I like lots of female singers (Christina A., Pink, Gwen, Whitney, etc) but I’d have to judge by who I would pay to go to see. Bette Midler of course, and Judy Collins. Josh Stone does a great “Put Your Hands on Me Baby” which I would love to hear Tom sing.

I have many favourite female singers to name a few : Tina Turner, Barbara Streisand, Celine Dion, Bette Midler, Gladys Knight, Carly Simon, Nora Jones ….. Any Female singer with a strong powerful voice gets my vote. Wonder who Toms’ favourite Female Singer is ?

Some of my favorite female singers are Tina Turner, Barbara Streisand, Cher, and Bette Midler. It would be great to see Tom sing with some of the female singers mentioned. What an experience that would be. Unforgettable.

My favorite female singer is Cleo Laine. I had the pleasure of seeing her live in Concord, California many years ago with her husband, John Dankworth, and it was breathtaking. She has a vocal range beyond most singers, and is a beautiful woman to boot. I first listened to her when I was my twenties and knew I had heard the voice of someone spectacular. Still feel the same. I am sure that she and Tom would have much to talk about……………… Laura

My favorite, Mariah, Christina, and of course always Tina turner. What a great concert they would have together with Tom.

As far as female singers I have way too many favorites. I like all types of singers and music to really pick one.

My two favorite female vocalists are: Celine and Whitney Houston. For pure entertainment: Tina Turner.
