Show & Venue Reviews, What's New, Pussycat?

Please share your Tom Jones shows with other fans. Setlist? Audience? Energy? What was it like being there? We’d love to hear from you.

And, while you’re telling us about the shows, please let us know what you think of the venues where Tom plays. Clubs, theaters, casinos — Tom Jones performs in all of them. Which venue do you think is the best? The worst?

So that other fans will know what’s in store when they buy their tickets, please tell us a little bit about the venues you know. If possible, try to use the format below so others can tell at a glance what you think. The best venue will merit ****. More than one review of a venue is welcome.

Great Audio, New Visual At Tom’s Shows These Days. Were You There? What Did You Think?

We are so grateful to the fan who gave us these photos. Don’t know exactly when they were taken, but it was one night since Thursday.

The wonderful thing about seeing Tom Jones — whether for the very first time or for the fifth time in as many days — is that you are guaranteed great audio. Always. Tom’s voice is indescribably, breathtakingly amazing. If he were to have an off night, it would still be leagues better than most singers having their best night. It is always a privilege to hear him.

Of course, as many people have commented, the visuals aren’t bad, either.

Starting with last Thursday night’s show at the MGM Tom has changed his look. As you can see here, it’s black slacks, black shirt (no change there) and — Sunday, at least — a white jacket. He alternates that with a red one.

Where other men may look like waiters in a white jacket, Tom looks great. The tan, the diamond jewelry (catch his Bellagio clock — er, watch — one of only five in the world) and the contrast of black against white looks terrific.

We sat next to four guys from Denver, all in their early 20s who wanted Tom to sing Stoned In Love. (They love the song and their response proves again that it was too bad that it wasn’t released here with any kind of publicity, as it would have likely been a dance hit.) Anyway, they were spending a great deal of time during the show texting (and no usher bothered them or asked them to put away their phones). When asked why, they explained with great enthusiasm, “We’ve gotta tell everyone how f***in’ great he is!”

And, we have to add, one of the nicest things about the World of Tom Jones is the fact that fans can, and often do, become good friends. We were able to celebrate two fans’ birthdays this week, laughing, dancing (who can resist I Like The Way?) and just enjoying the great shows and the great company. If you have been at the MGM this month, please share your review.

Well, you’ve said it all. He looks great. Also, there is no one in the pop world today who can touch his incredible voice.I like the white jacket and would imagine the red one looks good, too. If you remember when he did the Coast To Coast series he used to wear a lot of waist-length sparkle jackets in different colours. These too I thought looked great. Let’s face he looks good in anything.

OMG! He looks sooo hot in that jacket. Lucky ladies that were there on the 11th. I sure envy you all. Share your pics please.

  3. Sandy Says:

Wow, hope he’s still wearing the different jackets in August. But how do people get those pictures at the MGM? They very seriously threatened to kick us out if we even tried last year.

  4. Moderator Says:

Sandy: We think the key to taking photos at the MGM must be to do so carefully. Lately, there have been cameras all over the place. Last night, some guy stood behind us — stood! — and just snapped away using a flash and no one said “boo” to him. So, we have no answer. We do find it interesting, though, that the MGM says it is the performer’s decision whether or not photos are allowed and the staffs of performers we’ve spoken to say it’s the hotel/union. So, we’d say, take ‘em carefully.

HIde it in my purse? I don’t like the idea of useing a flash as I’ve been in performing arts for 50 yrs. & I preach against that all the time. But if I’m close enough I won’t need a flash, will I?

  6. Carol Says:

    He looks delicious!!!!!!!!

  7. Jared Says:

    I love the new look.

  8. Holly Says:

Way to change it up Tom! I’m still waiting for the return of a tux. The man wears a tux like no other!

  9. Ed Says:

Great new look. Back in the mid 90’s he wore different colored jackets and always looked incredible. Now, please describe this watch you are talking of.

  10. Lori R. Says:

Now,THAT look should be on the hotel marque and billboards! Smokin’ HOT!

  11. Marisa Says:

Although they can never come back, I still love the sequin boleros too!

  12. Audrey M Says:

LOVE-LOVE-LOVE the white jacket!!!!!!!!!! Now I HAVE to see him in the red one also. Anyone have a pic they could share?

  13. SusannePDX Says:

I saw him Sunday night in the white and agree…it was smokin hot! Monday night he wore the red jacket and I didn’t like it. There are many light changes during the show (”green” during Green, Green, Grass of Home, etc), All the color changes changed the hue of the jacket. Sometimes it looked orange and sometimes it looked purple. It just wasn’t as classic and elegant as the white jacket…very James Bondish.

  14. Marian Says:

I will be praying to see him in red, white, any color….very soon. He is gorgeous in any color, and I agree, I loved the tuxes…and the sparkly bolero jackets, although I know they are a thing of the past.

OMG what a Vegas run it was for me. When TJ came out for the first time in a RED I just fell off my seat. I died OMG he is wearing RED. Then the next night OMG the same thing I flew off my seat the second OMG WHITE. Had me guessing the next show GREEN? BLUE? BLACK? TUX??????? But just a tease RED and WHITE.

I had a great time nice to meet you Susanne PDX I had a great time. Thank you once again. Best birthday ever what more can anyone ask for. Ellen BTW “I LIKE THE WAY YOU MOVE” OMG I’m still on that cloud. VEGAS ROCKED WHEN TOM WAS AT THE THEATRE!!!!!!!!

Fans have sent many wonderful pictures of Tom on your website and I’ve enjoyed each and every picture. My favorite is Tom wearing his white jacket.

I attended Tom’s shows from Sunday, May 11th to Wednesday, May14th. When Tom was introduced by Tony and came onto the stage Sunday evening his presence was immaculate, handsome, good-looking, (many more descriptive words could be added) mainly I was so happy, happy to be there.

Concerning the lady you called Pat from Texas: I saw Tom’s interaction with a fan who dearly loves him. It was fascinating to see Tom respond to her. I’m sure Pat will never forget that experience. Tom is such a gracious man.

Tom’s voice is absolutely powerful and wonderful.

His band is so much fun to watch and see Tom and them interact. . Will be back in August to see Tom again if all goes well. LOL to all Tom fans and hope to meet more Tom fans next time.

I met many cheerful people at all the shows I attended. Some of the people I met had not seen Tom and others who see him a lot were anticipating a wonderful evening.

Thanks Tom for giving your all to your fans.
