More On Tom: That Watch; The Show Was Unusual Last Night; Links To July Shows Ticket Sales
Tuesday, May 13th, 2008
The photo here is of Tom’s Bellagio, special order, five time-zone watch. There are very few of these in the world. David Beckham owns another of those few. A fan asked the other night to get a photo of it and, with the diamond glitter and the flash, this is the best we could do. The five circles you can see near the bottom of the star are the time zones. Below is a small story about a minor incident at Monday’s show. The thing that is striking, of course, is Tom’s kindness — and the thought that so many other fans have wished they could try it themselves. And, finally, there are ticket-ordering links if you click the “read more” link.
The show at the MGM last night (Monday) featured a somewhat subdued crowd but it was a solid show. While nothing was tossed onstage, one audience member tried valiantly to put herself on stage with Tom.
She was named Pat and came from Texas; petite, white-haired and around 80 years of age. She was seated at Table 9A, next to the stage, and had come to the show with her daughter and son-in-law who gave her the trip for Mother’s Day.
When SusannePDX came to take the fourth seat at the table she spotted a handbag on the otherwise empty fourth chair. “This must be my seat,” she said. “No, it’s not,” Pat replied. “Well, that’s what my ticket says,” countered SusannePDX.
“Well I need that seat. I need that seat to get up on the stage.” She then began to laugh and SusannePDX realized she was joking and she could have her seat with no problem. The woman said, “You think I’m kidding? You think I won’t do it? I’m crazy.”
SusannePDX sat next to Pat. As Pat watched the show, kept grabbing SusannePDX in her excitement. At rest, Pat sat with her hands clasped on the stage. The first time Tom walked near to her, she beckoned him with her little finger. He laughed and winked.
But it didn’t end there.
When he began to introduce the brass section, the woman stood up, turned to face the audience and hoisted herself butt first onto the stage. She began to turn toward Tom, lifting one leg up onto the stage. At that point, an usher came over and asked her to get down.
“Leave me alone!” she replied, “I just wanna….I just wanna…”
Then, a stagehand came out, put his hand on her shoulder and said, “Lady you have to get down.”
“Take your hands off me! Take your hands off me! I’ll beat the s*** out of you!”
At that point, Tom walked over. “What do you want, love?” he asked. “What is it?”
“I just love you so much,” she said, “I just want to touch you and know you’re real.”
Tom extended his hand to her and she grabbed it with both of hers. “You’re just gorgeous. I’ve loved you for 40 years. You’re just so beautiful.
“I love you, too,” he said.
She quietly stepped down unassisted and the show went on. Throughout the rest of the show, when Tom was on the right side of the stage, he’d blow her a kiss and wink at her.
SusannePDX reports, “She was in heaven.”

That’s the Sir Tom we know and love! He loves his fans! Nice watch, but, what I really want to know is - what type of elixir is Tom taking? His hand could be that of a 30-year-old! I’m sitting here looking at my pruned-up wrinkle-puss hands and weeping! (Oh, yes, I do wash dishes….ha.)

His is SUCH a class act. He loves women as much as they love him, he’s so delicious. I’m all twitterpatted just thinking about him!

Awwwwwwwww. The fact that he showed the woman such kindness melts my heart. AND he called her “love?” I’m all twitterpatted too, and I don’t even know what it means!!!

Darla: One of my favourite websites is UrbanDictionary.com. This is a word I learned there:
Twitterpatted
To fall in love.
From the movie Bambi:
“Nearly everybody gets twitterpatted in the springtime. For example, you’re walking along minding your own business; you’re looking neither to the left, nor to the right when all of a sudden you run smack into a pretty face… Who-o! Who-o! You begin to get weak in the knees, your head’s in a whirl! And then you feel light as feather, and before you know it you’re walking on air, and then, you know what? You’re knocked for a loop! And you completely lose your head!”
That sounds about right as far Sir Tom is concerned for all of us gals ; ))

I’m twitterpattered too. Table 9A turned out to be a great seat. We got lots of looks, winks, and blown kisses. (Those who have visited the MGM know TJ works the other side of the stage much more) Tom is such a pro and instantly defused the situation and made someone’s Mother’s Day very special. Love that Tom!

I feel twitterpatted too!!! Weak knees, airwalking and my head I have lost a long time ago - if there is a cure please don’t tell me about it
The shows this May weekend were great - love the new jackets and accessories — lol — When he came out in red on Thursday nite my friend pointed out that he was wearing red — omg what a surprise for us after all those shows in black or purple. Well, anyway, TOM smiled and and said: “Sometimes you gotta wear how you feel and I am on fire tonight.” The audience loved it!!!!!
Saturday nite was wild audience-wise — a lot of dancing everywhere behind the tables and at the sides, panty and room key throwing (sorry room cards, hahaha)
Same setlist as in April. And He Stopped Loving Her Today became one of my favorites since I heard TOM singing this beautiful song live! His voice was spectacular all the nights, his energy level sky high and his wonderful band right at his side

It just goes to show he gets us all and how patient he is with us — er, and dare I say you don’t have to be young to know how to enjoy the moment.

What a wonderful hand under this beautiful jewel If I was asked to imagine the perfection in terms of hands, I would imagine Tom’s. His are masculine, powerful and so perfectly proportioned.
