Tom Jones According To Duffy: “He Means Sex.” Do You Agree With Her That A Meeting’s Inevitable? Duh!
Thursday, July 24th, 2008In an interview with writer Jon Bream in the Minneapolis Star Tribune Welsh pop tart Duffy discusses Sir Tom. At the age of 24 has she already learned to stir the publicity pot? We think so. What do you think?

At the end of his story, Bream writes:
“She’d rather talk about someone a little closer to home — Welsh icon Sir Tom Jones.
“‘What does he mean to me? He means sex,” she said. “It was very liberating. That was a Welshman doing that in the days when people were quite well-behaved, for lack of a better word. He was kind of cool, you know, he was kind of a bit punk. The guy is still going. He’s still probably got the sex drive of a 21-year-old. He’s a great bloke.
“I”ve never, ever met him. But I’ve got a feeling that introduction is going to happen.’”

I checked out her videos. She gets points for wearing red high heels and attempting to dance in them. She should start studying his duets with Tina Turner to see what kind of energy and charisma it takes to share a stage with him. I think she’s still too green…especially for all of us who like our Tom “undiluted”.

And I bet Tom would like to meet Duffy, she has a very special and soulful voice
The two meeting? - definetely! 2 blue-eyed soul singers from Wales - their passes must cross one day :)…

We posted this because we thought it amusing for a few reasons. But, before we go on to something else,we must remind you that, on July 14, we posted a story from Wales Online: “Speaking in Los Angeles at the Grammy Foundation’s Starry Night Gala, Tom revealed who his dream duet at the moment would be: “’Duffy, you know because she’s Welsh. And she can sing, not just because she’s Welsh. I’d like to do something with her.’” So, there you go. Let’s assume he said it. And, because of her worldwide popularity, it probably would bring Tom a new audience. Look what pairing with Christina Aguilera did for Tony Bennett (whose really well done website, we’re happy to say, has a link to U.S. voter registration).

I like my Tom “undiluted” but I can see the two in a duet. I love Duffy’s song “Mercy”.

Susanne - my favorite song is “Warwick Avenue” OMG this song in a duet with TOM would be a breathtaking, heartbreaking experience

Warwick Avenue is a great duet song…the chorus is very catchy too!

Duffy’s quote - “He means sex”. If you’ve got it flaunt it and Tom has surely got it!
