Thank you. Of course, I do understand, especially about how the poll works. Hopefully, next time, the vast majority of votes will be for Tom Jones. Anyway, there is one song I would love to hear Tom sing one day, and that is the inspirational and beautiful song, “You Raise Me Up”. Again, Thank You.

TJF: Of course, being a New Yorker has nothing to do with anything. One of the moderators is a New Yorker. We say Rachael Ray because she has a show that is on a major network. Emeril does not. And, yes, your words were extremely critical of Mark Woodward who, we are sure, has terrific musical instincts. As for Kiss, Stoned In Love and other songs, the point isn’t whether you, we or anyone likes them. The point is that they were hits and the larger, most pressing point, right now is that Tom Jones needs that.

As for the poll, again, you ask “why it was decided that Paul, Rod and Mick was more sexier than Tom Jones.” It’s just how many people voted and for whom. We don’t think any one individual was in this case THE decider.

Sometimes, it helps to rererad what you write before you press the “submit comment” button. We do and, often, we revise because we don’t want to sound harsh. We do this because we are fans and we believe ardently that all fans should have a platform on which they can express their views. We welcome yours. We do not (as some others can certainly attest) welcome criticism of Tom’s management or his personal life. It’s just not our business and, since we don’t know the entire story, we are more comfortable skipping that.

Tom Jones’ music exists, we believe, to bring more joy and beauty int the world. And we try to focus on that as much as we can. No, it’s not all beer and skittles, and we know that, but we strive to be positive even, we admit, when it’s sometimes difficult. We hope you and all the fans who visit this site understand that, accept it and respond accordingly.

We don’t want — and will not allow — the discussion here to devolve into the mess so many other similar ones became. This should be a haven, a sanctuary, for civilized, humorous and constructively critical discussion of the career and public life of Sir Tom Jones. That is our goal and we’ll do our utmost to reach and maintain it.

Didn’t mean to make anything sound like I being angry, which I am not. I guess I have strong opinions, I am a New Yorker. I’ve read so many views and respect all of them whether I agree or disagree with the recipients who have written them. It’s really not about who’s right or wrong, but how one feels and sees it from their view point after reading a specific article. I was not discrediting Tom’s son, Mark, and very sorry if it transmitted as so. I was only making a comparison on the “if” factor should Mr. Gordon had lived. There are those like the song “Kiss” and there are those who don’t. That is the beauty of being able to to choose. You, the Moderator, seem to be very critical of me. You say Rachel Ray, I say Emeril. That’s fine, I respect that. After all, it will be Sir Tom’s final decision to go where he wishes. As for poll, I know what is was about, and still, why it was decided that Paul, Rod and Mick was more sexier than Tom Jones still baffles me. Again, my thoughts. Cheers!

TJFriend: Once again, we must strongly disagree with you. Mark has done a terrific job, as did Gordon, when it comes to choosing music. In fact, Mark chose the songs (Kiss, for example) that have brought Tom his success over the last generation. This poll was not about the state of a career, but about men the public — and there's no accounting for the public's taste — thinks sexy.

We really don't understand your post or the point you're trying to make. As for Emeril Live!, there must be dozens of other shows that would suit Tom better and that people can actually see on a real network. Let's just take it on faith that he knows how to scream "BAM!" We do not have to hear it. Even Rachel Ray would be better.

As for "Tom's style," what makes him really special, aside from The Voice, his looks, etc., is the fact that he sings in just about any style. Sometimes it's a hit (If I Only Knew); sometimes it's a miss (Holiday, Satisfaction).

So, we're sorry to say that we believe you are wrong on so many levels and wonder why all your posts seem so angry and/or contrary.

Sorry to say, but the best manager Sir Tom Jones ever had was the one, and only, Mr. Gordon Mills. Tom’s son, Mark, is doing well, but it was Gordon Mills who knew what to do to keep Tom Jones on top and ahead of the game. Yes, Tom is doing well, but had Gordon Mill lived, I think that Tom Jones would have ranked #1 today if not very close to it, instead of being behind Rod Stweart, Paul McCartney and Mick Jagger. I wish Sir Tom Jones would go back to recording songs he used to record back then. I would love to hear a song written by Tom, himself. To me, some of the today’s styles, like the hip hop really doesn’t fit Tom Jones’style, at least the one I knew back then. I’m only 40, but I am an old-fashion person who enjoys the POP style I listened to while growing up that included Tom Jones, ABBA, Richard Clayderman, Electric Light Orchestra, Celine Dion, Perry Como, Andy Williams, Engelbert and Elvis. I would love to see Tom Jones as a guest on Emril Live, the Tonight Show (where he made constant appearances when Johnny Carson was king of the late night shows), and then the View, Dancing with the Stars, again, and amongst other notable live entertainment shows. No matter what, Sir Tom Jones will always be #1 to me. He’s been #1 for me since I was 3 years old.

Tom is much sexier today, I think! Also, Mick is one ugly-looking dude. As for dance moves, I have seen Mick once and do not care to see him again. I can NEVER get enough of Tom’s shows…

While I don’t think that Mick Jagger can sing, he does have stage presence and is fun to watch. And BeBe I agree, what does age have to do with it? Tom was sexy then and he’s sexy now!
