Since we’re sure Sir Tom will be busy promoting 24 Hours in the coming weeks and months, tomorrow we’ll begin to take a look back at his last promotional blitz in the US, when he released Reloaded in 2003. Be sure to tune in!

Because we base our calendar print order on the number of calendar orders we receive, we have only limited time to take these orders. Last year, many people were unable to get a calendar because we just couldn’t get more printed despite lots of requests.

To give those of you who didn’t see last year’s edition an idea of the contents of our soon-to-be-published 2009 TJI.com Tom Jones Fan Calendar, we thought we’d post two pages from the 2008 edition.

On the left is October. The photos in color capture Tom in his early-80s “glam” phase, with eyeliner and pancake make-up, but still looking great. The black-and-white photo is a wonderful, emotional moment captured for posterity.

On the right is the extraordinary photo from his concert in Viña del Mar, Chile in February 2007. It gives us — the viewers — some sense of what it’s like to play to 20,000 people. It’s a really awesome shot and we were lucky to get it. (In case you’re wondering, before the concert, via this website, we were able to connect with some other entertainers and their crews who were performing at the Festival. That’s how we got this.)
Of course our TJI.com mascot — this dragon — is not in the middle of the photos on the calendar.

The calendars last year and this have lots photos of Tom through the years, lots of candid pictures and shots you’ve probably never seen before. There are also lots of significant dates in the TJ Chronology noted.

For this year’s edition, we’ve notified the people whose photos we are using because they do not have to pay. If you submitted a picture and haven’t heard, we’re saving your photo for possible inclusion in the 2010 edition. Thus, if you submitted a photo and haven’t heard, you’ll have to order a calendar. Our problem — and we’re thrilled to have it — is that we got so many terrific photos and we couldn’t use them all.

You can order the 2009 calendar for a limited time by clicking the appropriate button — inside the USA or outside — at right. Please be aware that your support of the calendar helps to support this website. We will also be making a charity donation out of the proceeds.

Please note: PayPal is set up for one (1) order at a time. We did this because people seemed to have difficulty last year with figuring out how much to pay. If you want to order more than one calendar, you’ll have to go to PayPal more than once. We’re sorry for any inconvenience but, after talking with the people at PayPal, we decided this was the best way to go. Thanks for understanding.
